Motorised Tracking Systems

For inclined orbit satellite operators or easy pointing between multiple satellites.  The Antenna Motorised Mount and Controller from Paradigm is specifically designed for 1.8m and 2.4m antennas requiring automatic tracking or positioning. The mount provides azimuth and elevation motorisation for all RF frequency bands and also polarisation motion for Ku-band. The Antenna Motorised Mount gives accurate pointing with minimal set up time, moving from satellite to satellite is easy and quick - even if the destination satellite is in an inclined orbit.

Motorisation is provided by DC actuators powered from an integral DC supply. Positional read-out is provided by absolute encoders meaning that position is known immediately without the need for indexing, even after a power failure. The mount itself is made from heavy gauge galvanized steel for maximum environmental protection, the mount fits directly to the VSAT kingpost or non-penetrating mount post.

The control unit has a front panel with operator keys, and a web browser software interface. Relay contacts, analogue voltage inputs, status inputs and open collector outputs to interface to external equipment such as BUCs and waveguide switches - all presented via the web interface - provide simple remote control of VSAT terminals without the expense of a full remote control system.

The Controller has the option to be beacon receiver independent as it can automatically downloads the satellite orbital data provided by the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) via the Internet once a day. The small amount of data transferred can even be handled by slow dial-up connections. Should the Internet connection fail, the Controller can provide an accurate orbital model for each satellite for up to 30 days, making it suitable for a wide range of defence, broadcast and commercial applications.
